Cricket Latrobe Valley
Our three-year partnership with Cricket Latrobe Valley has helped boost participation by women and children by removing the burden of team fees, and assisting representative teams with the uniforms, training sessions, equipment for these matches.
Our backing has also allowed for off-season junior clinics, better access to training facilities and equipment for junior representative teams, and support for member clubs to attract and retain junior players.
Formerly Latrobe Valley and District Cricket League before its amalgamation with the Traralgon and District Cricket Association in July 2023, the league has reported a 46% increase in the number of women playing cricket since our partnership began in July 2021 according to Cricket Latrobe Valley president, Brad Howlett. This was assisted by both the amalgamation of the leagues and our support.
“Thanks to the support of Loy Yang B Power Station, we introduced the women’s division into Cricket Latrobe Valley competitions,” Brad said.
“It’s great to see all the players getting out on the field each Thursday night having fun, exercising and socialising together.”
From July 2024, we will continue to help grow involvement in cricket by women, children, and people of all abilities by supporting Cricket Latrobe Valley for a further three years.
The Raiders are one of nine women’s teams in the Cricket Latrobe Valley competition.
Junior participation in Cricket Latrobe Valley remains strong.
